Viking Rows PaddleBoard Event Live Tracking
Last year, my son, wife and I attempted to cross the Ka’iwi Channel, as a three-person family team, in the Molokai To Oahu World Paddleboard Championship. We quickly found out that we were way over our head in attempting this challenge, but in the process, we discovered a love for Prone PaddleBoarding (and being on the water is a given).
You can learn more about our adventure last year on our Dream 10X Podcast website: Episode 63: Paddling The Channel of Bones.
This year, however, I decided to participate in the M2O Virtual PaddleBoard Event, which allows participants to paddle from anywhere on any body of water.
Tomorrow, Saturday, August 3, 2024, at 7am, I will attempt to paddle the 16 mile Virtual M2O required paddling distance on the Potomac River in Washington DC. The plan is to leave from somewhere around Old Town Alexandria and finish in Pohick Bay around 1pm EDT. Temps should be in the mid 80’s for most of the paddle. High Tide is around 8am EDT and the wind will be out of the south west at around 6-8 knots. These conditions might make for a bumpy paddle, we’ll see. There is also a slight chance of rain and thunder, but this is the best weather window for this weekend, so I’m going for it.
